CRAYFISH!?!?! CRAWFISH....CRAWDADS......MUD PUPPIES!!!
Jerri & I had 3 dozen boiled last night at our favorite local Cajun place!!

Tony, if you ever have me over for dinner - PLEASE NO CRAWFISH (Or any other food that looks back at you!)
Next time you're in town, we'll go to my favorite little Cajun hole-in-the-wall...everything's fried or boiled or in good Cajun sauces...guaranteed to clean you out or clog your arteries!!

Has anyone noticed that not one lady has added to this discussion. Mine doesn't count, it's just an obervation.

Aw, Basil - at least try the fried pickles with key lime mayonnaisse dip.

You don't know what yer missin Basil. That's sum good eatin'.

Give me a can of Ken-L-Ration. Tastes just like hash if you be drunk enough. I was. Never again.

O.K. I have to chime in....I LOVE crawfish (and yes I will even suck the heads AND eat the tail) Our favorite in college though was FROGS....a carafe of cold beer with a dozen raw oysters in the bottom...bottoms up, chug it down and slurp the oysters! Yum!

You must'a gone to one of them fancy, rich kid, private colleges!! We were lucky to afford canned beer - never 'carafe's'....& oysters? Heck, we were gigging & eatin' frog legs while you were slurpin' oysters & callin' 'em FROGS!

We gigged frogs and sold them to local restaurants, removed bats from old buildings and caught and sold water snakes to the psychology dept. for some weird experiments they did to earn our beer money. ($.50 a snake x 150-200 snakes on a Saturday afternoon = Frogs on Saturday night!)

Weird food...I've always been adventurous and tried most of it from smoked carp :smile:pukeface:smile: to mountain oysters (not too bad).

And I've always thought Spam tastes suspiciously like alpo (don't ask but a blind taste test was in there somewhere)

I too noticed that Ken-L-Ration did look and smell a lot like the hash we occasionally bought. After that I stopped eating hash.

In college they bet me that I wouldn't. I did.

When I was working retail (ugh) we missed some "goal" or something, and the district manager brought in a plate of dog treats (they were the flat wafer treats) because she said we were the "dogs" of the company. It was so inspirational. Anyway, I said "thanks" and ate one, then grabbed another and walked away. She didn't like that too much, took the plate, and forgot the whole idea.

The danged thing had no taste at all. It probably wasn't a whole lot different than "hard tack" was in the 1800s. I'm not quite sure what dogs see in the stuff

I've often wondered why SPAM fell out of favor.
Fried crisp with mayo and lettuce on white bread- it got me thru
many an all night of studies.

SPAM< SPAM< SPAM< SPAM!!!

Spam makes heck of a mean sandwich when fried. I don't know why more people don't eat em. I eat smoked oysters in the tins and my wife thinks thats disgusting, she also thought spam was untill I got her to eat one of my sammichs. Beyond that and the ocassional milk bone I don't really eat anything too odd.

Family favorite
Claussin Kosher Dill slice atop a Triscuit cracker with a dollop of Cheeze-Whiz. gotta do the name brands, otherwise it just aint the same.
Honestly I'd hafta try one of those pickle-pops before I made any gaggy noises, but they sure sound nasty.
One of the resturants in Watkins sells fried pickles. those are gooood!
You can keep the Crawdads. I'm with Basil. I don't eat things that are staring back.
Had Bacon cheesburger pizza the other day. Topped with Ground beef, cheddar cheese, bacon, catsup, mustard, onion, tomato, and your choice of dill or sweet pickles. ( I had the dill) It was awsome!!!! Although I had to admit, I'd never had a pizza with pickles on it before. I can't wait till they have it again.

They sell the kids pickle-pops at the elmementary schools here for $1 each. Amanda must've asked for money for them at least a million times last year. Guess that's why I'm not a millionaire - hehehehehe.

Oh, and fried spam sandwich, the best thing since sliced bread... I like to add a slice of american cheese, and some pepper jelly, dip the whole sandwich into eggwash and fry the whole sandwich. Spam Monte Christo. Yummy!
