I would like to finish out the driving season using the old radiator which has a minor leak from a couple of spots on the radiator fins. I am going to try a rad sealer to see if It will seal up those leaks. I have heard that rad sealers can plug up the fins in the heater core but if I close the heater valve that wont be an issue. Is it possible that the rad sealer could plug the thermostat?? Has anyone tried one of these sealer products and had good with it? Any brand name recommendations? Karl

No, the thermostat will be fine. Normally I would recommend against the stop-leak, but just to get through a season it should work great.
