I am gaining ground.

It finally seems like I am gaining ground. This is the first time in more than 8 years that the engine has been in my Midget. The PO took it out had had it rebuilt at that time and this morning I out it back in. I have the front and rear suspensions rebuilt and everything under the car done except to mount the new gas tank and fuel pump. Waiting until I replace the rear valance for that. At least it looks like some work has been done now.

That looks great! I like that silver color.

Thanks guys, Greg, that is the Austin Healey engine color. Didn't think I would care for the MG engine color in there with the color of the car.

Oh, the bay would look much better if I would clean the dust off. Figure I might as well wait until it is ready for a drive and then wash it out.

Wrong, cleaner and easier to work when all is clean, very clean.

Looking good, progress in the right direction!
My 1275 engine that came with the tub had a tag that said compression of 170,168,172, 175, oil pressure 60#. I thought sweet! Actually the tag should have been my first clue. Who ever measures the compression of 168 and 172, too precise, not on my gauge. Engine was toast.
Hope you have better luck than I did.

Scott, that had to be s discouraging discovery.
I have the build sheet from the builder and have talked to him. I also tore the engine down far enough to be satisfied that it is what it is supposed to be.
But I was pretty nervous before I checked.
