The windshield pillar to vent window seal that I have has a smaller groove in the rubber than the groove on my windshield. I don't know if I have a later version windshield or not but the seal for my year doesn't fit. I see that there is a later version seal in the moss catalog but it is NA. I have been trying to rig something up but so far its been a miserable failure. Anybody else been though this?
 
Kim, is it possible you have an EARLIER windscreen? The one on my '69 has a fairly wide groove (maybe approx. 1/2"). I would offer the seals from mine but they are in sad shape!!

Just looked in the Moss catalogue and I see what you mean about N/A on the part (#15 in their diagram)...could they have sent you the one that is N/A? As I said, mine is a '69 and has a wider groove as you describe the one on your car!!

I don't know. The part number for the one they stock was the one that was on each seal. I ordered from Little British car Company about 2 years ago. The seals are not that high, but I don't want to order the wrong ones again. I have been thinking of just using that 3M emblem adhesive and goop it up real good and press it in there and slam the doors shut overnight and see if it sticks good.
 
Kim, if you are going to do that, get a tube of 3M 5200 black and use that as an adhesive on the back of the rubber pieces and slide it in the groove. It will hold better, and match the rubber if some oozes out since it is black also! (A little of that stuff goes a long way too, so don't goop it on :wink: !).
 
You might consider 3M 4200 in case you ever might want to get the rubber out again. We use the 5200 on things here at the coast that are meant to last forever. It can be removed, but it is a really hard job. What do you think Mike?

I agree 5200 is pretty robust, 4200 would work but either way there is a product made for removing it! Marine Formula by Debond Corp. (pic. below!).

Well, I got tired of fooling around and used the emblem adhesive and glued it in place on both doors and shut the doors on them. I will see tomorrow how it worked out. I hope it stays. I got about a dozen things left to do like buy and install a new battery and then install the heater or maybe the heater first would be better. I had been using a bigger battery just to fool around with it while putting it together.
