Hyraulics rebuilding questions

I always like to have a spare on hand so that I don't have down time. My question is is it Ok to rebuild a clutch or brake master cylinder and then have it sit for five or ten years? Would I be better off to store the parts and assemble it just before I install it?

My opinion, wait until you need it. Even then, I probably wouldn't keep the seals past 10 years or so.
 
You can, but I'd only do it if you know you'll be swapping them out in the next few months. Better to just keep a set of seals around, in a dark place to avoid sunlight affecting the rubber, and just replacing those in the stash every few years. Seal kits are usually inexpensive and unless damaged the cylinder will take less time to clean and rebuild than to remove and refit.
