Help - I just replaced my Hydraulic Brake Switch on my BN4 after I noticed my Brake Lights not working. After installing the new switch I notice that there is some brake fluid leaking from the switch around the threads when the brake pedal is depressed. I did not use Locktite or similar products - should I have? Any other suggestions would be helpful.
 
With brake lines I wrap the threads in the white plastic tape (the proper name eludes me), this forms a better seal with the threads and prevents leakages.

Fact is that the replacement brake switches are very poorly made. Some leak, some don't. Some work new and some don't. I have been through about 4 of them in as many years. Teflon tape may help, but I am not sure how it will hold up to brake fluid.
 
Thanks guys - I will try Teflon tape. The switch works, however I think I am going to go with a mechanical switch in the very near future.
