TR2/3/3A HVDA transmission conversion. 90* speedometer cable adapter may be required on TR3's

FYI Just installed a HVDA transmission conversion in my TR3A and have discovered that the W58 Toyota transmission is so close to the frame that the speedo cable has to make a radical 90* turn, possibly damaging it or effecting the functionality of the speedo. The cable also runs VERY close to the exhaust. Herman told me this occasionally happens and that there is a 90* speedometer cable adapter that can solve this problem. See below part number and picture. There is another type of adapter that is of cast aluminium but Herman said it is too large to work. If anyone has one they are willing to sell to me please let me know as I would like to install it before installing the transmission tunnel, carpet etc. I've had no luck on ebay, or local wrecking yards. When I did my conversion on my TR6 with the W58 tranny, I needed to get a speedometer ratio adapter so the speedo would be correct. As I remember, it was a 90 degree adapter that I used.
It looked like the one below...

Use this info at your own risk:

A Google-ramble found this on a Kiwi forum:

https://oldschool.co.nz/2011/forum/index.php?/topic/39256-wtb-toyota-hiluxhiace-speedo-angle-drive/

Suggests you might look at p/n 83770-22100 or 83770-30070.

Just to see what would happen, I plugged those into a Toyota parts site and got:

Looks promising. Among the images on Google were these:

May work, but perhaps with the additional parts number your local Toyota dealer might have something you could examine.

When I was doing my conversions I was able to find two different types of 90 degree adapters on Toyotas at the Pick and Pull site where we got our trannys. One was as shown with a cable inside it. It eventually broke ,I think because the speedo froze. The other type is more of a compact 90 degree type with a gear inside. I say this because there may be additional vehicles in the junk yard with potential donor 90's.

I used a Toyota adapter on both my HVDAs, one W58 came with the adapter attached, one I purchased from Toyota for about $75. I also added ThermoTec heat shield which wraps around the 2 feet or so that's close to the exhaust on the 3A.
