Hurricane Crashed

Bummer. I have always liked the Hurricane. Everyone thinks of the Spitfire when the Battle of Britain is mentioned, but, numbers-wise, the Hurricane was the real hero.

Strange construction; steel tube fuselage in which the tubes are bolted, not welded, together. NASM's Hurricane was a very long and difficult restoration. Seems like every time I went to the Garber Facility, the Hurricane was in the same state. For years and years. Of course, the turnover in restoration specialist in the middle had something to do with the length of time of the restoration!

Wonder if any are left in airworthy condition now?

Bad week for aviation!

Three were killed at the Reno Air Races and of course, McRae in Scotland.

Not to mention the loss of Colin McRea, his young son and 2 friends!! By strange coinsidence, his ex-boss had an almost identical crash in a similar chopper the next day, but luckily they survived!!
