I saw this raccoon out of my back window. He was trying to catch a lizard going up the tree. Silly raccoon; the lizard is much faster :bananawave:

I heard that danged incessant commercial in the background "Liberty liberty..." Arrrrggg! But cute Raccoon!

Was this in Florida?

Yes, I’m in Florida one more week.
Had the TV on when I noticed the raccoon.

You only pay for what you need! 🚖

Then there's the one for cat litter, with Martha Stewart,
which they always seem to play at least twice within two minutes.

I think that the quality of commercials is awful.
They seem to be trying for funny, but they miss me completely.
Perhaps I've lost my sense of humor.
I haven't heard anything funny since Monty Python and Faulty Towers.

I think that the quality of commercials is awful.
One that pops up on YouTube all the time that I absolutely HATE is the Progressive commercial:
Dad: "Son, we're grabbing burgers for dinner if you're interested"
40 year-old hippy Son: "Uh, I'm vegan, Walter!"
Dad: "You had bacon for breakfast."
Son: "Ok. Mr perfect."
Announcer: "Want to really be a rebel? Get off you're parents' car insurance."

Seems that #$^%$ commercial comes on every other YT video!

Used to be able to pass commercials, but know smart tvs can't. Get paid too much to stop them.

OTOH clearly they work! :ROFLMAO: They may not be memorable for the right reasons - but we remember them. :bananawave:

Flo, the lizard and the emu used to be my least favorite (polite talk for most hated) ads. But Joe Namath and JJ what's-his-name have far surpassed them with shear volume. that's quantity not sound. I too know about mute.

The other issue I have is the length of commercial breaks - ESPN now has a countdown counter to show that they'll be back from the commercial break in 4 or 5 minutes. I simply change the channel. One of our local stations will show infomercials (i.e. Plexaderm) as part of their newscast. Sad.

99% of everything I watch is recorded and I fast forward through commercials.

And Tom Selleck "I've been around long enough to know what's what". Having someone who almost certainly doesn't need it telling me how they trust some company. You trust them so much, show me where you signed on the line...

When I went to sign for my mortgage many years ago no where in the documents did it say that the mortgage would never be sold as I was promised by the bank president.
I refused to sign the papers and asked to see the bank president. When I reminded him that he assured me of not selling my mortgage he extended his hand and said “you have my word on it”. I pushed all the papers aside and extended my hand and said “you have my word that I will pay the mortgage” 😀
