Varied between 1/1600 and 1/4000. I've edited to put the relevant shutter speed above each image. What kind of shutter speeds were involved there? That third shot is stunning, BTW.![]()

Just for fun and experimentation, I set up one of my Canon 600EX-RT Speedlites aimed in the general direction of one of the feeders. Triggered with a remote trigger atop the R5. Light was set for "High Speed Sync" so I could shoot shutter speeds faster than 1/200th (which is the max flash sync speed in normal mode when using mechanical shutter).

An iPhone snap of the setup.

The one with the bee is pretty awesome. I'm starting to get visits from a humming bird again. The gardener had whacked down my flowering vine in the front. Took about 8 months to grow back.
I think they're all pretty awesome. Haven't seen hummingbirds around here. Lots of 'em in western PA tho. Grandfather had honeysuckle vines and they would flock around those. ISTR those birds have a wing beat of 63 times a second? So even with a 2000th or a flash there's still a bit of motion blur at the wingtips! Remarkable critters.

An interesting phenomenon when I'm photographing these little guys - when I'm looking through the electronic view finder, due to the refresh rate of the EVF, the wings seem to be flapping at a much lower rate such that I can actually see the wing motion.I think they're all pretty awesome.
