HT plug leads routing on firing order

Can anybody tell me the HT plug lead routing or firing order to the
distributor for a 1986 Jaguar Sovereign 4.2?

The engine is not running at present and it is possible that the
distributor may be out of sink.

Any help will be just great

If is the standard Jag 4.2 XK Engine, the fire order would be: 1,5,3,6,2,4 with #1 being the rear most plug and number 6 being at the front of the engine.

Welcome to the forum!

The "reverse" timing order was used on all six cylinder Jags from the XK120 through the XJ6 series 3. The X40 then used the forward most plug as the nu;mber one.
