My choke control on my 4A is for some reason sticking.

I've put some light oil on the linkages and springs, but it's still not the way it was a few months back. It operated very smoothly.

Can I also rub a little teflon grease on the jet levers and on the outer surface of the jet shafts?

And if I can, would that be bad?

No oil should not hurt them, some lubricating oil will get tacky over time, I would suggest something like lithium grease. Also, this may not apply to you, but on the center linkage shaft, you have the lever arms that meet up with the side linkage on both the throttle and choke linkage bars, people will often adjust then towards the carb side linkages to take out any side to side slop of the the center linakge bar thinking they are doing a good thing, but actually you want a little side to side play in the center shafts, if there is none, the shaft will bind. Hope this helps.

Have you ruled out cable issues? Tom
