How's your Sunday been?

I woke up this morning to unseasonally warm weather. 70 degrees, sunny and still. I had to feed a friend's cat so I loaded my 8-year-old son and 6-year-old daugher into the TR3 and headed off to the next village. About five miles down the road we spotted a hot air balloon ahead. It was only just skimming the trees and we drove directly underneath it. Having stopped for a while to watch we decided to quickly feed the cats and then go balloon chasing.
And what a great time we had. It eventually touched down in a field of wheat and we drove around to it to watch it slowly deflate.
What an idillic way to spend a Sunday morning and I returned home just in time to watch the Bahrainian Grand Prix. It was only a shame I didn't have my camera with me.

Well, I watched the Grand Prix starting at 7:00 this morning Eastern Daylight Time. Right now, I'm watching the 'noreaster rolling in. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cryin.gif

I still have plenty to do. I'm painting the last big panel on the TR3...the apron.

Nick -

I was enjoying the same weather down here around London. My goodness, that weather sure brings the soft tops out. A couple of nice Stags, an XKE, and a few other sundry things. Looking at them is almost as fun as driving them on days like this. Almost.

Cheers,
Randy

Nice day here in Chicago. Just got back from a ride in my GT6 and am about ready to get the TR/4A out. Gotta get those fluids moving!... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Here in Dayton, OH it's 45' and windy with a wind chill of about 30'. Not the kind of top down motoring weather we had a couple of weeks ago.

However, started the day with the Bahrain GP. It looks like the UK has another great driver in Hamilton; already breaking records. I was disappointed in Alonso; I still think he is the best F1 pilot today though. But again, watch out for Hamilton, he may prove to be the best yet.

Now getting ready to watch the Heritage in Hilton Head and then @ 4:00 PM Champ Car racing from Long Beach. All-in-all not a bad Sunday. Can't wait for the weather to turn in order to enjoy the open skies.

Steve

Cold and rainy all day in RI as well.

Next weekends forecast looks nice though!

getting wet and cold. 6-10" snow forecast, heavy rain, flooding, 40-50mph winds, preparing for power outages - checked the generator, towels down in the workshop, drains shoveled off ... well gonna be crappy but right now it's just beginning. Junior is leading.

Made my 80 yr old mother mad, cause I wouldn't let her drive the TR4. She's only 4'10 and couldn't reach the pedals.

As with Bill and Kodanja I too have a river runs through it. My back yard at the least complete with a big ole Canada Goose wading around happy as can be. Wind gusts picking up but not too bad yet...siding still on the house so far.

Those hot air balloons surely are a sight to see. We use to get up around 4:00 A.M. and drive down to the beach in Norwalk to see the hot air balloons every year. A minimum of ten to twenty balloons were suppose to fly out over Long Island Sound to Long Island, NY but every year the wind would blow them inland the opposite direction of where they were suppose to go. They had one that looked just like Mickey Mouse's head one year. Kids loved it!

As Carl Spackler (Bill Murray) said in Caddyshack, "I don't think the heavy stuff is coming down yet".

to our friends the other side of the pond, glad the weather is nice there, my daughter is currently touring England & Scotland on her High School band trip. They are playing a number of concert dates the next 4 days.

Watch for th Ipswich High school concerts coming to a town near you.

p.s. she e-mailed last night saying how beautiful Scotland was & how nice the people were. This from an 18yr old who does not mince words!

Sounds like a trip of a life time!

Hope I am not boring you all with the itenerary.

We get balloons over the hill behind our house in the early summer mornings when we walk the dog in the field. It startles us to hear them filling, usually we think it's a big deer snorting to warn us. Sounds like a fun time chasing the balloons in the TR3.

Still better than snow!
At least when it finally gets warm
the streets will be clean and ready to drive,

that should happen right around August!

My new project is an ARK
(My wife is gathering up all the animals now) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif

On the mend from double hernia surgery. Taking pain
meds and feeling kinda funky.

Weather in my part of California is fair but windy
right now. Trying to do what I can cause it's killing
me having the ole TR sitting in the garage; but I'm
making some headway.

Post a few more questions and a little more work should
just about do it. I'm getting excited. About ready to
start to put it back together.

Gary,
It sounds as though your daugher is going to all the best places. I'm glad the weather has been good to her.
Sorry to hear that things are so wet States-side. At least it will clean the salt off the roads. I hope you manage to take your LBCs out soon.

cold and wet. A cold front came thru at lunch with heavy rain all arvo and thru the night. I've got this week off work (coincide with school holidays) and it is fining up. I'll be putting my doors back together after rust proofing internally, oh and entertaining my kids.........they are getting quite good at imperial spanner selections.
Regards
Craig
