Corn, squash, potatoes, root veg, melons, salads, medicinal herbs, bush beans, pole beans, raspberries, blackberries all doing well, thank you. Can't say the same for the cabbages, turnips, rutabaga; flea beetles gobbled 'em up as they germinated. Replanted four weeks ago - same problem. Happy beetles; unhappy farmers.

Groundhog hasn't re-appeared since I showed him my musket a few weeks ago. Knock wood.

Ready to harvest peas this week, as they dry in the sun and the humidity has disappeared this weekend.

With luck, the fall harvest will be a success.

So how's your garden doing?
 
Impressive!! We have, maybe three rasberries (berries, not bushes), a few cucumbers, an occasional tomato... more of a trial and error yard, not yet a full blown hobby!

We've been eating tomatoes for several weeks now. As well as bannana peppers, butternut squash, sweet basil, and even baby watermelons. Bell peppers, cayanne peppers, jalepenos, and potatoes are on the way.

What variety is that melon? I've got Tom Watson, Nutmeg, and Ice Cream melons. But won't be ready to eat 'til September!

I used to have six raised bed gardens (a la Mel Bartholomew) in our summer house, but I've given it up.
I miss it, but there is just so much time in my life. These days my garden has been replaced by grass (with a healthy mix of clover.....no herbicides here). The clover seems to attrack a nice herd of rabbits, which is OK by me.

But I am enjoying a lot of local produce lately (here in <span style="font-style: italic">The Garden State</span>). The corn is great (and I had excellent, fresh Maryland corn two days ago in Rehoboth).

While I used to enjoy all the usual items (tomatoes, zuchinni, beans, etc), my favorite garden-fresh item was always potatoes.
I would maintain that a potatoes that has just been dug up, cleaned and baked all in the same day tastes better than candy (to me, at least).
 
Sugar Babies - they should be about the size of a soccer ball, but I had 'em planted in small pots. Stunted 'em down to softball size. I've since replanted the vines in the back yard, should have another batch of 'em in a couple months. The butternut squash did the same thing. Tiny lil buggers.

I thought potatoes would make you sick if you didn't let 'em sit a few days in the dark after you dug 'em up.

I have a couple potato plants in a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled in the bottom for drainage. Kindof an experiment. Plant's doing well, I'll let ya know if it produces any potatoes worth a dang.
 
Our garden consists of a lemon tree - and it is absolutely dripping with lemons. Unfortunately they're the worst tasting, most inedible type of lemon I've ever encountered. :smile:

<span style="color: #660000"> Know how you feel. Planted a lime tree 5 years ago.
It is now huge and finally made fruit. Tiny limes, dry as dust inside.
Almost useless except they smell nice.

The Mrs' collection of fancy hot peppers coming along very well.
My herbs are enjoying some sunshine.

The lemon tree hasn't had lemons in years, the pomegranate tree is also bare. The fig tree is dead.
The weeds are all thriving.
At least the Bay tree has lots of leaves, the rosemary and thyme are doing well, and the jasmine and other flowering bushes I planted last year are all doing well, probably thanks to the benign neglect they get.
