Just purchased what is titled as a 1967 Austin Healey Sprite. However, I'm not sure that the year is correct as the VIN number seems to be lower than the published VIN range for the 1967. However, it really doesn't matter too much as besides the frame and most of the body, the rest has been modified.
'Lil Red has a 1969 small block Chevy 350, Quadrajet, TH350 trans and a Ford 9" with air shock suspension. American Racing wheels a few other tweaks here and there.
The bumpers have been removed and the cut with a functional hood scoop. I love the way she looks but I also want to keep the original look where I can. She doesn't have a speedometer but I do have the original Tach, Fuel and Voltage gauges.
Before the purist attack me, I purchased this car last week and all the big mods were already done, I am just putting the finishing touches on her.
I am glad to find this forum as there are several forums and websites for AH, MG and Sprites, but none seem to be as active as this one.
I have a few other cars of interest, '81 DeLorean (not British but made in Ireland), a '37 Jaguar SS-100 replica (son and I build it - Mustang II suspension and V6, '46 Chevy pickup (all original), '91 Chrysler Lebaron convertible and an '09 Hummer H3T truck.
Thanks for keeping this forum and website running and I hope to be a frequent contributor. This is the photo of when I bought her.
