How to Seal Plug for EGR hole in head

I have the rebuilt head back from TSI (very nice work BTW) and need to plug the old EGR hole. I have the correct allen head plug from McMaster-Carr. How should the plug threads be sealed? Teflon tape, pipe dope? It will have to withstand a lot of heat.

The plug isn't tapered, and I don't think it really bottoms out to seal in the bottom of the hole. How has anyone done this?

Here's a picture of the freshly painted head (sorry Brosky, red wouldn't go well with the Saphire Blue car!) and the plug. Thanks for your help.

(Also, I have a few extra plugs if anyone needs one.)

I used Hylomar on mine on the second (new engine) go around, but Teflon taped worked well for about 3,000 miles.

You're forgiven David. Yours look just fine as it is and will look great in the engine compartment.

With some red wires, of course......
