Ok, I need a good idea here. The Exxon Valdez seems to have taught my engine something about oil spills.
Oil is dripping at a good clip from the front edge of the oil pan, yep right where that aluminum bar is. Now, before I put it together, I put timeserts threaded inserts into the bar, so there it no problem tightening it down, but there is clearly oil coming out.
When I put the gasket on I gave it a good coating of permetex on both sides of the gasket. However there still is a steady drip.
I REALLY would like to avoid pulling the oil pan so I am looking for any ideas to slow down the leak.
