How to seal a big Oil leak

Ok, I need a good idea here. The Exxon Valdez seems to have taught my engine something about oil spills.

Oil is dripping at a good clip from the front edge of the oil pan, yep right where that aluminum bar is. Now, before I put it together, I put timeserts threaded inserts into the bar, so there it no problem tightening it down, but there is clearly oil coming out.
When I put the gasket on I gave it a good coating of permetex on both sides of the gasket. However there still is a steady drip.
I REALLY would like to avoid pulling the oil pan so I am looking for any ideas to slow down the leak.

The saddle bar (never knew that that was its name!) had enough metal that I was able to tap it out and put threaded inserts in. I can tighten the bolts up on the front as tight as I want without any problem. I suspect that either the gasket might gotten crinkled when I put it on, that that the pan may be slightly bent.
I think I will try to find the exact location of the hole, slightly release the bolts and jam a bit of balsa wood in to see if that will swell up and seal the leak.

DPO Pedro used newspaper and Bazooka bubble gum
for many things. What have you got to lose?
