How to repair broken vent window studs?

Both studs that mount the vent window to the top of the door on my '67 Sprite are broken off flush. My plan was to drill them out and replace with a bolt but thought it best to ask if anyone has solved this problem. Are they pressed into the plates? Are they splined? I guess my question comes down to, Can I possibly press them out or should I go ahead with drilling? Thanks for any advice you can give on this. I think it is the last hold up on getting the car done.

Nevermind. I did it. I managed to drill both out with a really long 1/4 inch bit then customized bolts to replace the original studs.
