TR2/3/3A How To Jack Up a TR3A

I want to jack up one side at a time and get both wheels on a side off the ground enough to slip a "race ramp" under each tire to keep the tires round during longterm storage. Is there a point on each side of the car where it's safe to place the jack? I intend to use a hydraulic floor jack. Driving the car onto the 4 ramps is impossible so the easiest way to get the ramps under the tires is to jack the car up a few inches. The ramps look like this:

Just did this yesterday. I placed the hydraulic floor jack on the chassis rail just ahead of the TR3‘s jack point; don’t want to mess up that area!

I placed 4 jack stands at each corner, rock solid!

Use a board between the jack and the frame. The frame is only 16 gage and will dent...if that matters to you.

I use a wooden block on my jack and lift at the factory locations. I like to lift both sides from the same side of the car. Your task is very similar to putting my car on its "skates" for storage.

Are "skates" little sets of wheels that allow you to move the car around by hand?

Yep! They are very easy and convenient to use and allow me to get three cars in a two car garage for winter or bad weather.

Good question, I have no idea but, they do have a curved cradle for the tire.

The wheels are centerlock. I wanted to put Panasports on the car. After reading about issues with the way the rear wheel studs are peened into the rear hubs, I decided to go with the centerlock mags. I was VERY patient and waited until the dollar vs the pound and a Rimmer's Bros sale got the price down to just less then $1K including shipping for four wheels. I've had them on the car for a little over 2 years. I still have my 60 spoke wires with no tires mounted. I liked the look of the mags and at the time was occasionally auto crossing that car.
BTW, within the last month Rimmer had a sales flyer that had some unbelievable prices.
