Seeking a little advice from someone who has done this before. Has anyone found an easy method to install a bolt through the TR6 rubber universal coupling in the steering shaft? I am attempting to install a new ground strap in an effort to restore the horn system. This required the removal of one bolt to secure the new strap. I have been fighting with the alignment of the coupling and the shaft all day and needless to say, the TR6 is winning the battle. Some of my methods attempted were: aligning the holes with a screwdriver and using visegrips to hold the alignment. I have also tried to rotate the shaft and hold the alignment with a pry bar. Removing the screwdriver will cause the alignment to slip. This is getting frustrating and now I wish I would have left the system inoperative.
