What's the best way to check TR6 front wheel bearings for proper adjustment. bentley says .003 to .005 end float.
Measuring that accurately seems difficult. I get movement from the rest of the car.
They seem to have some movement when pressure applied at 12 and 6 alternately.
Gotta be a LBC trick to doing this.

Thanks

Remove the dust cap & cotter pin, torque the nut to 10 ftlb (or until you can feel the bearing drag), then back off 1/2 flat plus however far it takes to line up the cotter pin.

Now shake the wheel and note what it feels like. If you can feel just that tiny bit of play, and not a big 'clunk', it's close enough.
