I've been wondering is anyone out there knows of a good rebuild book for MkIII Sprites. I would like to find one with LOTS of pictures. The factory manual I have is full of information--Disjointed, obscure, misleading, frustrating, British Leylandese information. Since I don't speak "British" I am having a heck of a time putting this thing back together again. Thanks for any clues.

I can't say it's been especially helpful - it has specific projects - and if you don't have those specific issues, it's not a huge help. (my 2 cents only)

I know that Practical Classics put out a compilation of their articles here

I know there is much "britishese" in the manuals but the Haynes Manual & the Bentley manual (the 2 standards) are really where you will end up. When I started, they were VERY confusing but the more you get into it (and use this board) the easier it gets. I tend to go to Haynes first as the language seems (to me) to be easier and then to Bentley as they (to me) are sometimes more thorough.

This board is also a HUGE help - folk will post pics etc. etc.

I've got the first 2 (and may have the third) that JP listed. I usually stick to the Haynes and Factory books for most work. A few questions here on the BCF usually clear up any inconsistencies.

Thanks for the info. My main problem is the proper placement of the distributor drive gear. I think I've figured it out but if I haven't it will probably be off only 180 degrees. Try again 'n again 'n again.....Well, thanks again. I'm progressing on the rest of this toy-doors, windshield, seats, paint, etc. finished. I'll never try base-clear paint again! Too much work for the finish you get as a DIYer. Body shops have way better facilities than mine! If I can get it running I'll feel much better.
It's midnite in Montana so I guess I'd better get back out there and get to work. I may be crazy or close to it.
