TR4/4A how ro grease steering box?

I am replacing the ground strap to the chassis. The thought is to grease the box before I put the plug back. Manual says to put 5 pumps of grease in it. Given no nipple, how to do it?

On a TR6 I would take out the plug and the install the grease nipple. 5 pumps then reinstall the plug.

Would you know off hand what the thread size is? Also is there some way to keep the fitting in and also provide a place for the ground strap?
Also how often to grease?

Looks like 3/8 X 28 for which I could not find a Zerk. However I took the end off my grease gun and it covered the hole sufficiently to get the grease in it

Grease is a term used, but I fill with Penrite. Be sure your rubber bits are not deteriorated.
