Nervous about welding the rocker on the car. So looked for something mindless to do to calm my nerves.

Re: How old is the average Triumph nut on the foru

I'm 46 going on 47.
The first car I drove (at 15 yrs in 1975) was my brothers 64 TR4.

I have a good 10 footer 74 TR6 that has treated me well for the past several years. I have a garage sized basket and spare bedroom full of new and used parts for a 58ish TR3A that I will someday drive, knowing I put every piece of it back together. The real question I ask myself is: Why.

Re: Totals

Well Oldtimer, after you went to all that trouble I'll come in with one more - I just turned 64 and bought my first LBC 45 years ago. It was an MGA, but the other four since have all been Triumphs.

And now I suppose you ought to go back through the responses again just for fun, and see if it isn't true that the older we are, the older our car tends to be. Hmmmmmm. Mine's a 58 3A.

Re: Totals

Looks like everybody's in on this one - put me down for 50.

It looks like the 50+ person is the kid that fell in love with LBCs when they were plentiful and cheap. I remember a dealer in Dayton, OH with at least 8 Midgets in 1974 any one for $1995. I'm 52 and have been in love for 40+ years with them.

Not sure if the question was the car or the owner.

Owner: 37
Car: 39 (had to find one older than I am)

Re: How old is the average Triumph nut on the foru

I turned 57 in June, and this is my first year with a Triumph ever. When my friends in college in the late 60's and early 70's were driving their sports cars, I had my inherited 52 Buick Special sedan straight 8 with a 3 on the tree.

But my second childhood is even better than the first!
(cause now I can buy more of the toys)
