How old is the average Triumph nut on the forum?

I guess that I'm the old guy on this block. I bought my TR3A brand new 49 years ago and I'm still 20 years old. I paid cash for it $2616.00 with overdrive, undercoating and windscreen washers.

47, we have had Triumphs or Healeys in the family since '64.
I couldn't see out the window, but I always remember "the smell".

Turned 61 last April. Bought my first Triumph...a '63 TR4 in the summer of '65. Except for maybe an eight year stretch, I've always had a TR of some sort in the garage. Currently doing a resto on a 48 year old TR3. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

The only thing on me that is still under 39 is my waist size.

I'm now 56. My first ride in a Triumph, which was a white/red TR3, was in 1963, when I was 12 years old.

Hey Shannon-

By some standards you be an old guy yerself!

ie: When I was 19, I dated a woman of 22 years age.
My buddies gave me no end of grief about dating "grandma".

At age 19 the 22 year old ladies looked nice and at
age 59 the 22 year old ladies look just as nice.

I'm a 1958 model year and it was a heck of a lot easier getting in and out of a 1977 Triumph Spitfire at 19 than it is at 49

Well; Here`s one revealing topic: Anyone surprised at the results? Not Me:

Just turned 60 in May: Play alot of Tennis (Advanced Player); Snow Ski (Used to be an Instructor at Hunter Mtn, NY), Golfer (Absolutely Horrible - 95 / 105avg) & Love LBCs more Now than when I was 16:

1st Triumh was a `58TR3A (When, heck I can`t remember)!!!

Well, my TR3 is a '59 and some of the nuts are original, but I have replaced many with new nuts since I bought it in '80 when I was 23. So the average nut is about 51.

At the VTR - I think I was the only one without grey hair. That is just like my local club events.

I was 31 when I drove a Triumph for the first time. I have wanted an English sports car since I was 12 or so, though. Now I don't see myself being without one.

I agree 100% and it's kind of sad because it does not look like there are going to be many guys that will want to carry on the LBC hobby in 20 years.
