How old are Austin Healey owners?

Ist Healey a frog-eye bought in '62. Then a BN4 (left-hooker) which I immigrated to the US in in '66 and immeditaely drove 3000 miles round trip to Florida in mid-winter. ..no problems! '74 we "restored" a 100-6 from rust and sold...had three more "unsatisfacory" 3000's over the years and finally at 63 got my hands on a super BJ8 (which, see my oil-pressure post probably needs a bit of engine TLC!!) and which is a "I've come home" Keeper and daily driver (apart from the "salt months" in Buffalo! I would posit we own and drive 'em because we grew up with real cars and have better taste than our kids!!!! Cheers,Actor430

50% is 38 years of age.
50% is 65 years of age.

My father bought his first Healey in 1964. It was a 1962 MKII BT7 Tri-Carb. He was playing in the AHL at the time. Spent his summers in Ontario, Canada and the winters playing hockey in Clinton, New York. He'd pack everything in that Healey including all his equipment to go down and play for the winter. He sold it a few years later to start a family.

I've always loved British sports cars. When he was close to retirement we talked about pooling our resources and getting another Healey. We picked up our 1960 MKI BN7 in 2004. We maintain, problem solve, ache, show, restore, and drive it together whenever we get together. Though he owns the side with the steering wheel.

Hi chaps
I'm also 41 but more of a deviant than a StDev.

Hey Alan, you usin' Greshen formula? Last post you were at 42. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

55. Never owned a Healey in its heyday, could only admire from a distance. Have three now after selling one. Bought first one in '96. They all need work, but have great steering wheels

59 - Returned from Vietnam in 1968 and bought a 60 BN7 in southern Calif. Got married and drove it with everything we owned in it back to Blue Mound, IL. Kept it for a couple of years and sold it and bought a Tri-Carb BT7 so the kid had somewhere to ride. Sold it at an auction for $2500 to buy a lawn mower. Retired 5 years ago and bought a 65 BJ8 for $7500 that was (is) a rust bucket and have been working on it off and on since. Must have been in my blood even though I am a flat lander from Central Illinois.

Currently 59.
This is #3 - had it for 4 years now.
Bought my first one new in 1966!

55. Sometimes feel like 15, sometimes like 85. One interesting thing is that I still have friends come over to help on the Healey who helped on my 57 Chevrolet forty years ago. Hope they will still be here, and still working on cars together for forty more.

Ha ha you caught me in the senior moment... forgot for two seconds I was 41 for the two seconds I posted the 42. I started losing track of my age after 35, I can't count that high.

Well don’t feel bad. I usually can’t remember my age until someone asks. Then I have to think about it for a couple seconds before answering.

The responses are still trickling in...up to 99 now.
