'67 BJ8. I live on Long Island, bought the car in Oregon four years ago via an internet ad.
It's the car that I dreamed about for the last twenty years.
I own my dream car!

54, bought my 1964 BJ8 in 97. Wanted to buy my first Healey back in the Spring of 69. I saw a Healey Blue BJ8 with blue vinyl interior up at Lehman's on Derry Street in Harrisburg, PA. The price was about 975$ I think. I was a junior in high school. Went to the old man and said , "Dad I found a car I want , can you co sign for me". Dad says,"What kind of car". It's an Austin Healey dad. Dad says, "You ain't going to buy that car boy".

28 years later I got around to buying one to fit in the 3rd slot in my new 3 car garage. Dad is long gone but I still remember his words as if it happened yesterday.

I'm 49. I've had my BJ7 for over 30 years. Can I subtract the 30 years from my age?
 
Interesting. At 55 I'm a pretty average owner then.

I wonder do duffers of our age own these cars because we have more spare cash available or because we remember these cars as the bees-knees when we were wide eyed kids?? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
 
I just turned 57. My Abbington built Longbridge (late first series BN4 106 built in March 58) I purchased the car in January 1974 for $300. Fortunately or unfortunately I couldn't afford to restore the car until 3 years ago.

The car is just about done and will be in Vermont in June.

47. Bought the car in '94. Since then, I restored my TR6, currently doing body work and paint on my TR3. The 100 is next. I need to pick up my pace.

54... My uncle took me for a ride when I was 12 in his MGB and I got hooked on British sport cars... Purchased a Sprite at 18, then a spit, then a TR6, and finally a BJ7... Haven't been more than 2 years without a British car since 18. Driving the TR6 while rebuilding the BJ7.
