The TR6 has to go... we are keeping one but I need a down payment for an Audi TT. We got it for 5000 but I was wondering if 7500 was too high...

Its a 74 its straight and no rust. New interior. Only problem is when you push in the clutch it SCREAMS and the gauge light switch is out.

Has a new camel colored interior and it runs AWESOME, it was recently rebuilt, it has a Kent cam, tube shock conv, springs.

As a high end range I saw a very nice fully restored '76 TR6 go for about $15,200 on ebay after 46 bids. My 2cents, $7,500 does not sound unreasonable. Depends on curb appeal of the car.

I agree, $7500 is certainly not unreasonable.

TR6s are one of those cars where there is a very wide range of asking and selling prices, and much has to do with the market in which you are selling and the "curb appeal."

TR6s are appreciating in value (the 30-year-rule is in effect here.) Depending on where you are, and where you list, the supplies and demand can vary greatly.

Ebay seems to be the hot place for nice TR6s, since much of the mid west can't find a rust-free TR6. Here in the Pacific Northwest, there's not a chance a TR6 would sell for $15,000, unless it came with a trailer with a TR4 attached.

It's all about taking very nice digital pictures. If the car is red or BRG, you can probably ask $9500. Brown -- make it $5500. Yes, colors can make the price vary by that much!

We have an Audi TT which we love and also a TR4A and TR3A. Every year, the prices of the Triumphs goes up and the Audi goes down in value. I'd keep both it you can afford it, it's money in the bank. Peter

The screaming clutch sounds like the throw-out bearing is not long for this world which a potential buyer might factor in, since it essentially means a clutch replacement job. But depending on the rest of the car as others have said, $7500 still might not be too bad. That's exactly what I paid for my '71 (though if I had any bargaining skills I probably could have got it down a bit) and I have no regrets.

According to NADA, it's worth $7600-20k. Then again, that's NADA. I agree with sammy, there are alot of variables involved. Will your local market support the big $$$ or not. If nobody is intrested loacally, you may have a tough time unloading it for $4500. So try Ebay. Take lots-o-pictures and start the bidding at $7500. You can only go up from there, and you now have a national audiance! $7500 sounds like a fair price to me if it's everything you say it is. Then again, out here in Colorado it's not too hard to find a solid one either. Good luck!

Thanks guys!

This makes me feel better, we were told it was probably the throw out bearing. It stinks because the CLUTCH IS NEW... argh... I wish you could just grease it or something to get a little more life out of it.

I think I'll throw it on Ebay, we put it in the Kansas City Star and we've only had one guy come out and look, he commented on how great it sounded but there was something he didn't like, I think he is afraid of lurking rust. I would be too.

I think I'll lower the price 500 bucks and throw her on ebay,

I just want my TT, then when I pay that off... I'm going to invest in a TR3.
