The first page(s) is dedicated to the Council itself, and the five national registers (NAMMMR, NEMGTR, NAMGAR, NAMGBR, and AMGCR).

Links are provided to local clubs and centres (when provided by that club/centre).
 
I wonder why my MGC has the 120 mph speedometer.
Didn't someone here say they came with 140 mph speedos?
Unless someone changed it between 1969 & 1985 it must have come with the 120 mph. Is this not odd? Was the 140 mph speedo optional?
 
Rick....the 140mph speedo was stock on the MGC...methinks yours has been swapped out at some point in time..
 
Yep, MGC's come with 140mph speedo...look & tell us the little number at the bottom of the dial
 
Ok, I haven't yet resorted to using a magnifying glass but this is what it looks like:

at the bottom of the speedo:
SN 5227 / OD
and a little ways over to the right:
1280
 
That's 5227-06

Its a 1280rpm speedo out of a '68-'71 MGB.

I guess I have to put a replacement speedometer on my wish list for the car. Makes you wonder doesn't it? Sure makes me wonder!
 
Actually, while we're on the subject, I noticed the other day that there is no redline indicated on my C's tach. I checked the owner's manual, so I make sure to keep the revs below the limit, but shouldn't my tach. have a red zone painted on the instrument's face?

Yes it should. Still, redline depends on how the engine is built, not on what the gauge says. And remember that your gauge is probably not 100% accurate.
