How much for a daily driver Healy?

Just looking to get a Healy that's driveable at weekends and can be fixed up slowly without a) breaking the bank and b) spending my life underneath it.

What kind of price range am I looking at?

Okay...I hear you...what a Sprite or a Big Healey...quite a variance in pricing...you could mostly like get a driver Sprite in the $1500-2000 range (needs work)...and a Big Healey in the $12-15,000 (needs work) ranges...those are the low-side of things...good luck...

Appreciate the information. I was (unfortunately for my wallet) referring to a big Healy. I used to mess about with all kind of UK cars when I grew up in the UK. Now I've got a hankering to mess with them all over again.

Depending on year and condition...a reasonably good shape Big Healey will cost you around $15-25,000 US...the lower-end being the fixer-upper...high end cars go higher...I've seen lots of real nice cars in the mid to lower $20,000 range... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Well, with the big Healey you've picked (for a variety of reasons) one of the more expensive British cars to 'mess with'. I hope the Healey guys don't mind my saying this here -- but the TRs IMO offer a lot of great British car enjoyment and still change hands for very modest sums.

This is not meant to malign Healeys... but a lot of folks got priced out of Healey market in recent years and he did say he has messed with all kinds of British cars.

Hi AltaKnight...

I know not quite what you're thinking of, just spotted a 1961 Healey 3000 for restoration advertised out of Grande Prairie in northern Alberta, might be worth a call just for the heck of it... (It is listed the $5,000 and under Trader on page B74)
