How many LBCs do you own & are they garaged?

Re: How many LBCs do you own & are they garaged?

If you drive your Triumph every day, there are no mysteries. This is the advantage. It is my daily driver, but on the most nasty days I will drive our newer Ford Ranger. I drive in winter, but not while it's pouring out.
And yes, I do keep it outside...

54 TR2 Garaged
most of a 66 TR4A in pieces all over the place
58 Jag MK VIII outside (untill I can find dry storage.. It's killing me to have it sittin out)

YankeeTR, Is that ANOTHER TR2 in the bottom attachment pic??
I can tell it's an early one by the big speaker hole ( at least that's my best guess as to what it was put there for) in the footwell. Only the real early cars had that.
I have the "How to restore a TR2-3" book, and the author incorrectly suggests that someone had put that in the footwell of one of the cars he uses in one of the pictures, and that it would have to be rapaired.
But I've seen identical "speaker holes" in 3 TR2s in person, and at least 6 now in photohraphs.
Sorry for the sidetrack... now back to the regularly scheduled thread.

Banjo,

The white one is TS79784L...TS1203LO has the same hole...not sure about the others...

Re: How many LBC do you own?

The '59 is temporarily out in the driveway under tarps (I'm sure the neighbors are thrilled) since its guts (engine and trans) are in pieces in the garage being slowly reconstructed. The '55 TR3 (a racecar since 1960) is tucked up into a corner. And to echo someone else's string it too has a speaker hole in the passenger side footwell plus a hole in the right fender for an antenna.

Wow, that's a relief. I was afraid I might have the highest count. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

I got rid of all four remaining Volvos this past summer/fall, so I'm out of the Swedish business. But in addition to the '51 Chevy Coupe, I still have 3 GT6s, most of 2 Spitfires, Mayflower, (Standard) Pennant, Triumph 10 Estate, most of 3 TR3As and much of one TR3, a Sports 6 convertible...and at least 8 or 9 Heralds. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

Approximately 3/4 of them are in either a garage or barn; hopefully that percentage will rise soon, with some cleanup of said barn....

Re: How many LBC do you own?

I have three. My '72 TR6 is on the road(most of the time). Soon, I will resume body work/painting the '60 TR3. My '54 Austin Healey 100 was purchased as a long term project, and I seem to be doing everything possible to keep it that way. All are garaged.

Re: How many LBCs do you own & are they garaged?

Just one, and no garage. The Herald lives outside on the street currently under a car cover.
The engine is still in the computer room. The steering wheel is also there. Lots of spare parts in various hiding spaces around the apartment. Wife was not happy when she found a new roof hiding on top of the wardrobe last week /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Re: How many LBCs do you own & are they garaged?

I have 1 and part of it is my garage and part in a friends garage. I guess that counts

Re: How many LBCs do you own & are they garaged?

Both of mine are kept in the garage. One of these days, I'm going to have to get a bigger garage when I find that TR-6...

De-Lo & Elva safely tucked away in a nice warm garage.

Probably watching all the slush covered cars going by.

(And thinking about that case of redline on the floor, I got em for Christmas /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif )

Re: How many LBC do you own?

As listed below, both are daily drivers for the summer.

Re: How many LBC do you own?

1972 TR6, garaged

1978 Triumph TR8 and 1968 Ford Cortina MkII are both outside. Rust is still not a major concern in Colorado.

Shawn,

Sorry but I can't help but say this about the rust. Remember the snow comment?

Re: How many LBCs do you own & are they garaged?

Only one at this point, a 71 Spit. Had a 67 spit and 59 TR3. Wish I had either of them back.

Yea I know, but when our average humidity is still below 40 percent, rust is not a major concern. It can still be a concern, just not a major one. Much less of a concern for us than those states with uber high humidity.

The snow from these storms has been fairly dry. Out of the four feet of snow that we got here in Fort Collins, we will see about 3 inches of water. We do get wet snow once in a while, but this stuff has been fairly dry. The next storm that is supposed to head in tomorrow and possibly last through the weekend will come with single digit temperatures. WooHoo! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif So that will be pretty dry snow as well.

We are having an old fashioned winter. We used to get snow storms like this (not always as much snow) on a more regular basis 15-20 years ago. The last ten have been VERY mild with only a few storms (Sometimes they were big storms like spring of '03, but very few in number) and a few real cold snaps each winter. Which lead to my snow comments. People from warmer climates that have moved here in the last ten years think the world is ending. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif This next system will be the fourth in as many weeks.

Be honest now - it counts if it still has axles attached to it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

But its the one without the axles that's in the garage...

and seems to be permanently domiciled there.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif
