Isn't it amazing, that we as kids, played with BB guns, had sling shots, drank water from a garden hose. We didn't try to eat the front porch, the window frames, the house, our express wagons, or our toys and WE ALL SURVIVED! We were told NOT TO and if we did abuse our liberties, we got a smack on the butt! And for you lawyers out there, I didn't try to sue my parents,( I still can't believe that one), for getting my ass beat for doing something stupid, I was just a little more cautious about what I did the next time. I was taught to respect my parents and my elders. Something very rare today. Today, the kids have too much freedom, not enough discipline and too many bleeding heart know it alls who want to make a name for themselves by saying take all the old rules away from the teachers, among other things, in schools,(The dumbest maneuver ever), don't allow the parents to strongly discipline their children, if at all or we'll take you to court and the list goes on and on. Bottom line,(We reap the benefits or downfalls of what we sow). One will certaintly out weigh the other.
