Must be a keeper of the register thing; cool idea, and must've been a fun process though! ;)

She definitely looks like she was a Happy Midget owner!

Yeah, possibly a "keeper of the registry" thing and an interest in history. I did enjoy meeting and interviewing all previous owners. I have been fortunate with both my BJ8 and the Midget that the cars have always lived in North Carolina. Unlike most other states, I was able to find out from the DMV who owned the cars before me, and to be able to contact all of them (6 previous owners of the BJ8, 6 for the Midget). I learned a lot of interesting things about both cars that way -- for example, the fact that my BJ8 was stolen the same day it was bought new back in 1966.

Making it possible for other owners of the future to know more about their cars is one of the main reasons I have been trying in the BJ8 Registry to document as much as can be known about the ownership history of individual cars. There is no other place except the registry where that information can be recorded and preserved for those owners who come after us. There is always the concern for "privacy", but I think when it comes to classic car ownership privacy is way overdone. The losers are the owners of the future who want to know the history of their cars but have no resources to allow them to learn it.

Well, I've primarily been a 100-4 guy but I did race Spridget's on and off for about 12 years, so I guess you can call me both. I would probably not own a Spridget road car as my legs are too long for one with a full seat in it, but they are a blast to race! I had 100-4's both before an after my racing adventures so that has been more consistent over the years.

Cheers,
Dan M.

I've said it before: you make me wish I had a BJ8 instead of a BN6! However, if you'd just handle ALL the Healey registries...

Maybe the new 100/6 Registrar is different, I haven't tried to contact him yet. I don't get all the Ultra Secrecy either, especially amongst like-owners.
