How It Happened.........

Sorry for the cross post but.........I've had a bunch of messages about how I got my car in Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car magazine so I just updated my site with an explanation...... mostly it was dumb luck but you can read it here https://tr6.danielsonfamily.org/HemmingsCover.htm

Nice story Bob. After all of your hard work and efforts to share your experiences with the community, you deserved it.

Even if you never did mention me or Al.................but that's OK. We'll be fine..............

Left your wife at home?? Oh man.....that's gonna cost ya!! LOL

Congrats on the article AND cover!!!

Bob;

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A well deserved reward for your time and effort.
When is this issue on the stands?

Dave :savewave:

But Paul...you & Al were mentioned.....sort of.... there's a quote that says...."I'm prone to lean on the various forums for help along with a few TR6 friends (like Paul and Al) that I've made over the years"

Now here's where I should really get beat up..... Al wanted to come down for the photo shoot and I forgot to call him and then after they took all the pictures at my house, I forgot to get my wife when we left for the shoot at the orchard. After seeing the cover she muttered something like..... "oh well....the next time your car makes the cover of a national magazine I'm sure you'll remember to bring me.....like that will ever happen again"

So I made it up to her but she didn't buy it... I really need to work on my Photoshop skills!

OK Bob, let's tally up the inning so far. And I'm leaving myself out of this one.

You forget about inviting Al.....Strike One (sounds like a slider, down and inside)

You forget about inviting your wife......Strike Two (that must have been a blazing fast ball)

In the game there are only three strikes, so you are pushing the limit.

If I were you, I'd keep a close eye on Al the next time he's there to help you after this little episode. You think that tiny paint chip was bad?????

All I can say is it's a good thing that you have all of those nice "before" pictures.

It sounds like you should be doing some buying. In the precious gem section.

NIce article, and, as usual, another great addition to your site. I love both the Hemming's Sports and Exotic Cars, and Classic Car magazines, and also enjoy Classic Motorsports. I consider Autoweek essential as well, but have dropped all the other magazines that cover "modern" cars.

Good to see one of our own get his 15 minutes....

I high-tailed it to the new Borders in New Orleans today and only found that the January issue is out. I see that your mag is indeed the February issue! It ain't out yet! I will just have to wait....

I think my buddy's TR8 coupe might be in there too, correct?

Now I gotta go out and get it too... 300,000 mile Alfa?!?! NAHHHH.

Congrats, Bobby! Th' Big Time!

Bob,

Congradulations!I just got my issue today.
Opened the mailbox.& there's a magazine with a
TR6 on the cover!And it's Yellow!!
Now I can show this to people & say that -
- "Mine looks just like this".Hopefully they
haven't seen mine any closer than 20 ft.

- Doug

If Dave Hayden is your buddy...his TR8 got a 6 page, 23 picture write up too! A great issue for Triumph.

My wife is great and is having a super time busting them on me! Her birthday is on the 23rd and she will be taken care of as she has been for 40 years!
