How does this happen?

After posting a topic on Datsun to Bugeye shifter I thought about cutting one of my old ribcase shifters in prep for welding to the Datsun stub. I've got several transmissions in the barn from smooth case, rib case, sccr, to MGB and TR4a and the all have a shifter attached, but I have a pile of them in the shop and don't remember buying but one of them! I'm chalking it up to bad memory, but good grief!

Just up in the attic of the garage, where I've got 4 seats (presumably BE; possibly AH 3000), all nicely reupholstered. Okay - all I need is two. Why have I got four? When did I do this? Paying for reupholstery isn't cheap so how did I screw that one up? And we just hauled 12 BE rims out to a barn on Monday, along with 1 1275 engine, 1 1098, and 3 948s (all inmcomplete). We won't talk about the number of carbs nor axles nor .......

Easily done.....attending too many auto flea markets....take up fishing, that will fill your saturdays:smile:
I will be in need of a set of BE seats in black. What do you have too many of?

If you are going to put in black seats you will need to carry towels to sit on after it has sat in the sun for a while.
I had black seats in my red Bugeye and you can actually burn certain parts of your body if you are not careful when you sit down.
I have red seats in my Old English White Bugeye and they never get to warm to sit on.

Uh... don't drive nekkid? And the car still remembers it's home country with the Old English White, and it has never been warm as a result. Or even reasonably dry...

More seriously: shorts on a hot day are not a good thing, especially if I forgot to flip the seat backs forward to provide some shade. And you don't have to ask me how I know.

If you don't fish, do not start. Actually can be more expensive than cars and those brilliantly painted lures just attract the fisherman more than the fish. Then all the different rods and reels, then the boat, cannot just settle for run of the mill or (heaven forbid) bank fishing. Don't ask how I know. Have both cars and fishing boats.

Larry,
Fishing and hunting come with a hefty price tag! Started with a fishing boat on the Gulf of Mexico and my wife now has a condo and all that goes along with it including a new boat! Hunting is much the same with the camps, guns, optics, food and whiskey. Good thing is that the kids and grandkids enjoy it all, but they scratch their collective heads about my LBC addiction!
