How does one remove the outer door chrome?

Would one of you wise and experienced members please instruct me in the removal of the wide outer door chrome at the top of the door on my 1966 BJ8. I have the inner panels off and am not sure what comes next. My car is going to the paint shop in two weeks and I am taking as much off the car as I can before it leaves.
Thanks,
Charlie

Hi Coastalman, this is easily accomplished by using a soft plastic tool placed at the rear bottom edge of the chrome and tapping it up with your hand. Keep the door open and then slide the door chrome forward to free the nose.--Fwiw--Keoke

Thanks! It appeared to want to slide, but seemed to be hanging up near the vent window and I didn't know if there was something there that needed to be attended to in order to get the chrome off.
