How does a paint chip lead to this?

How does a few paint chips and recovering the seats take you down a road of no return, look what those paint chips did to a perfectly good Tr6 daily driver. <span style="text-decoration: underline">I think this disease is terminal</span> :smile:

found some rust so the fenders came off

the engine and trans needed cleaning, engine was already rebuilt, tranny is making my skin crawl!!

then i found some worn bushings and the frame and suspension was restored and of course a body sandblasting and respray was in order

picked up a powdercoating gun then i needed a bigger compressor for beadblasting,=80gallon champion compressor

the household type oven was to small so I had to build a bigger oven for powder coating.

:lol: :lol: :lol: ...I'm laughing because I went through the same thing! It is an incurable disease...don't try to fight it. It's shaping up real nice though. :cheers:
 
sounds familier, A hood repaint turned into a complete paint job and my friend says so why do you have the engine rebuilt and sooped up, Not going there, at least not yet

It is uncurable. I suffer from it also. For support, see the link below (half way down the page) and read up on TES (tool envy syndrome)

I knew what I was getting into when I got the car. I knew that I wasnt going to be touching up some paint chips. I knew, forget it, the cars 42yo, its time for a full frame off restoration including engine overhaul, and well, everything
 
been there doing it.
