How does '67 Sprite top attach to body?

I am about ready to add the top for my '67 Sprite and I can't determine for sure how to do it. I have the rubber trim piece around the back of the cockpit and I have an old top. I have the chrome strip that apparently goes on after the top. The top boot (cover) has 7 female snaps along the back so I assume I need the male counterparts as the last thing. The Moss catalog shows some screws that I think migh be what holds the male snaps then the chrome strip and the top but not sure. If so they don't show any nuts for the inside. Are these sheet metal screws or machine screws? Do they just thread into the holes in the body flange? Or do they come through and need some kind of nuts? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

From factory (at least on my 69) they were sheet metal screws and the flange that they go through was rusted. I cleaned and fixed all that at respray, but first drilled the holes sized for studs/nuts. At that time(pre-EBay) I got good hardware from a friend's upholstery shop.
Studs go through that SS bar, the top material, then the flange. Use flat nuts and lock washers.

Thank you jtaylor. That sort of confirms my best guess. I have been sidetracked a bit with windshield issues but hope to get back on the top soon.

Ah yes. Attaching the windshield with new rubber. 2nd hardest job next to putting in the glass and window regulator hardware!
