How do you secure your door rubber trim?

The rubber trim/draught excluder that fits onto the body and compresses when the door is shut against has decided not to stay in place. The seal appears to be designed to push onto the body flange, with some sort of female metal component in the seal that grips the body flange. However, ours aren't staying in place, and I would appreciate advice as to how overcome this problem. Thanks, Doug
 
In my experience, the only way to keep them on is to replace them with Martin Macgregor's excellent product , which he sent me a sample of years ago.

Isn't MacGregor's product the 'Bristleflex' Moss and others sell?
 
I have seals that came in my interior kit that also came loose.

What I did was grab a pair of pliers and wrapped tape around the jaws and squeezed the seal so the gap closed up. I then reattached it to the flange and squeezed it again. The seals I received had aluminum instead of steel for gripping the flange. If you squeeze the seal to hard you can take a flat screwdriver to open it up a little.
 
I believe that MM's product has a steel core, which will hold a "set" versus AL in the usual stuff, which will eventually deform (unform?), losing its clamping ability.

I think the price list on his website is old. You may want to check with Martin the current price when you call to order
 
See the Moss Motors part number 249-795. It is under MGA, but also shows for Austin Healey. These are steel and go into the aluminum clip area. It says you need a dozen per side, but on the Healey you can get by with them on the verticals, since the aluminum sill strip covers the door seal at the bottom. Check out some MGA sites for installation instructions. Should work.
