I decided that since I am going to miss most of the driving season, I would just bite the bullet and start taking her apart so I can get it painted and do the body work that needs to be done.

I got the door completely taken apart, except for the key lock .

So how do I get it out. Bently's wasn't much help. It just said the use the right tool and compress the legs. The problem is I don't see the legs.

The original style door locks were held in place by a flat spring on either side of the cylinder. Use a flashlight or drop light to see the position of the spring legs, they should be horizontaly on the right & left side. The hole is snug , use a plier to squeeze the legs tightly against the sylinder & push the unit out. It may help to press the cylinder in first to take the pressure off the legs to make it easier to move .

There should be 2 tongs(I don't know what you cal them) that can be pressed toward the lock so it will slide out the hole. They are next to the lock body. #3 is pointing to it.
