MGB How do you remove "speed nuts"?

The MG and Octagon emblems on the boot lid are held on by what I have called "speed nuts" in the past. They are the rectangular pieces with a raised opening in the middle which allows the posts of the emblems to pass through and secures them. I don't want to break the small posts off while trying to remove these retaining clips. Is there any good way to remove these speed nuts?
Thanks,
Charlie

I was just able to unscrew them.

Unscrewing them can work, patience helps. If you can get a pick between the trunk lid and the center of the clip, that works as well. A pick with a 90* "hook" at the end.

The one at the bottom of this photo:

I sure know about "patience" when working with LBCs. The speed nuts on the trunk/boot emblems are really small. I don't know if I have any pick small enough to get into those. I will try to unscrew them with needle nose pliers.

There is such a thing as a speed nut tool. It is like a screw driver except it has a coil spring for a blade . It is sharpened on the end to slip under the speed nut and just turn to jack it off the spud. I have one, but its diameter too big for those on emblems . LeT

 Glad to hear it.
