How do you loose a transformer?

So in the middle of the night last night we lost power at our house -- actually, we lost 1/2 of our service, so we have some lights (and internet), but no heat.

We called the power company, and they came out this morning. It seems to be an issue with a bunch of houses in our area. One of the workers came over and asked us where the transformer is.

Shouldn't they know this?

The workers are currently wandering around our neighborhood trying to find the transformer. The lines are buried in our neighborhood. Shouldn't they have a map?
 
Around here we call "julie" before we dig. Maybe they should call them.
They can call the power company to come out and find the underground cables.

Oh wait...
You said it was the power company that lost the transformer.

What a well run company!
 
drooartz, for several years we had a transformer outside our house hanging on a light pole every 6-8 months for some reason the dang thing would explode shaking the entire house, we had no problem finding it, they redid our grid so no more explosions.
 
That's never good when your power company can't keep track of where they're transformers are!!!


They are suppose to know that info. In a power outage with out that they might as well just get a blind man to fix it if they don't know where there transformers are.
 
Short out the wires and look for the smoke...
 
Well they finally found the transformer, as we have heat and all our power back on. Now back out to the garage I go...
 
Maybe it was out fighting the Deceptacons.....
(Lesse how many of you "seasoned" guys get that one...hehehehe)
 
I got it, but then I'm only mildly seasoned -- and watches that as a kid (and had a few of the toys as well).
 
I musta skipped over those guys.

Went from Hopalong Cassidy and Sky King to th' Power Rangers. :smirk:

I was going to bring this up but you beat me to it! GMTA!

We're not SUPPOSED to know where the transformers are! They are busy protecting us from the Deceptacons like you said! :laugh: But here's a hint....look for a bright yellow new Camaro or a blue and red Semi...you'll be close!!
 
Sounds like a Lucas transformer to me!
