How do they do it?

I'd be willing to bet that the good ones do memorize it
same race now for how many years
it is amazing there is nothing else like it.
can you imagine riding at an average speed of 130 MPh for 20min and doing just one lap.
it must be absolutely exahausting in every way.
 
The other 364 days of the year they run the course on playstation.
 
Video makes it seem faster - and given that the next youtube video is Isle of Mann accidents - not everyone memorizes!

A number of years ago, I read about a study that they had done on race car drivers - you would think that everything would be a split second decision - straight!, brake!, Turn!, Car!, Accelerate etc. - turns out time slows down for experienced drivers and in their minds they have all the time in the world to make their decisions.
 
I bet there are no ambulances at that race, just hearses.
