How do I store top in Bugeye?

Can someone tell me how to store the top in a Bugeye? I think there are two straps that secure the top to the bows. There is a very small slot in the center near the bows - what is the purpose of this? Is there a third strap that goes here? It almost seems to small for a strap to thread through. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The small slot in the center is for a leather strap to hold the top bow tight. The top is slung to that bow with two cloth straps.

Thanks, Jack. The slot in the center is really thin. It can't be more than a sixteenth of an inch. Does anyone even make straps that thin?

I have reproduction that matches the original quite well. I found a luggage tag strap that was almost identical to it as well.

Me too. I would not redommend that the top be hung like that. Kind of tough on the rear windows. I like to lay mine down folded into a quilted bed pad. Then I put it in a very large plastic bag and store away safely.

Can someone tell me how to store the top in a Bugeye?

I've found it's best to store it in the garage along with the side curtains.
