I'm preparing for the supercharger installation and I need to remove this. I know I'm not doing it right. When I turn the nut it just spins. How am I supposed to remove it?

If you think your brakes are good, you can try putting the gearbox in 4th and setting the handbrake tightly. Didn't work for me.

Another approach is to use a breaker bar & (preferably) 6-point socket. Line everything up so the breaker bar is laying against the frame or a block of wood, then hit the starter.
 
Or, remove the starter motor, and use a pry bar to block the ring gear in one of the teeth.
Impact wrench would be the easiest.
Remember, you gotta tighten it too.
 
He's got to be pulling our leg... Vice grips and channel locks..come on.. :crazy:
 
Just like the local guy....spitfire.....used the starter, came right off......y'all are making this harder than it is.
Proper socket in a long breaker bar, lay end of the bar on top of left hand frame (viewed from driver's seat), neutral, crank it.

So.....what model is that? When did they come up with reverse rotation? The way it's hooked up, rotating CW as you look at it, those straps will fold up into pretzels when you put a wrench on it....
 
I had someone hold the brake while I wrenched. You definitely need heavier artillery than that. The TR6 is torqued to about 85-95psi.
Hope you have a torque wrench for reinstallation.

Yep, worked every time for me. Quick and easy (I've even used the floor for the end of the breaker).

He did want to remove it... right? Turn it CCW and it works; reverse straps and you can tighten it. Other suggestions will work too.
 
I'm looking at using the starter.....and the ensuing spaghetti, I guess.
