OK, I bought extras, here's what I've tried....
Place a piece of wood below the rear axle, greased the bump stop and the xmas tree, and placed another piece of wood atop; used C clamps to try and pinch it down.
No go.
Grind a little out of the hole of the bump stop to go over the xmas tree.
No go.
Brute force.
No go.
BFH.
No go.
Needle nosed pliers.
No go.
The only thing I haven't tried, because I don't have one, is an upside down bottle jack and force the bugger down from above....
Suggestions are appreciated, I'll try anything.
