Can someone tell me how to fill the steering rack, what kind of oil to use, and where to get an oil gun to do it? I have two manuals, but neither one tells how to do this or how much to ad. All one of my manuals says is, "Be sure not to overfill." Any help would greatly be appreciated.

What I did was to remove the zerk fitting and used a pump oil can with 90 weight oil to inject rather than trying to find an oil gun. Just give it several squirts.

Bone dry rack, 1/4 of a cup.

You need a grease gun for the grease fittings anyway so I would suggest you invest in one which you can take apart and remove the plunger. Take the grease plunger out. Put some 90wt in, keep it upright and pump away! I have an old gun I keep just for this purpose and give the rack a few pumps every time I imagine my steering is starting to drag.

Maybe you can fill mine when we come by next June?

Happy to oblige, Bill. I'll have it topped up and waiting!!

Counting down to Midget 50th,
Kurt.
