We made the LAST payment on the Wife's car (2007 Ford Fusion-
4 cylinder/5 speed,with 84,000 miles on it).Decided that we'd keep it until it
died.
A few weeks ago,the "Check Engine" light came on.Turned out to be
the thermostat.I looked at the engine,& couldn't even see it.I talked to our
mechanic,& told him that I'd be bringing it in.I also said that he should replace
the hoses/belts while he's in there.
He told me that they'd replaced the hoses on a Ford Focus ....$1,800!
Only available through your local Ford dealer. Is this why people replace their
cars every few years?
I hate to ask ......... but is there anything else I need to be aware of?

Kelly's 04 Expedition still has OEM hoses at 185K so I wouldn't fret much.

What's the timing belt recommendation on that?

Sounds like you got hit with the go-away tax. You don't know about this tax?

The tax is levied for instructing rather than asking. Instead try, "may I bring my car to you..."
