How different than an MGB?

I have been doing quite a bit of research on the topic of installing a tube shock conversion to replace the damper arms in the rear of my 74 Midget. I found some very helpful info as it pertains to the MGB. I purchased one tube shock that was specified for an MGB to make sure it fit and it looks way too big for my midget. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what model car or model shock would fit my Midget? Thanks

I believe front tube shocks from a mini will work if you invert/swap the bottom mounting plates.

I used Monroe Road Sensor shocks (part # 5877R) on both front and rear of my race-Spridget. Works quite well for me.

The rears are simple....basically just flip the center plate on the leaf springs (the one that the big U-bolts go through) so that the shock mount hole is lower.

For street use, all you need are the original shocks...if yours are bad, send them to PeterC for rebuild....in the long run you'll save money!
